Petals fell

They fell

And we all marvelled

Not knowing it was not a dance

It was not a jubilee

But the beginning

Of a nightmarish journey

Detached from the old rose

Petals went mad

Looking for peace

In a world of vice

There is no wind

To blow them back

To the great rose

The beauty they left behind
